The portfolio inside the same dashboard

Seeing investments in one app and spending in another blocks the most useful question of all: how much of what I earn is actually going to the future? Navefi joins the two halves, and shows two numbers a broker does not put up front — what you have already paid to trade, and what the portfolio costs you a year just by existing.

  • Two brokers connect themselves

Interactive Brokers over the Flex Web Service and Trading 212 over an API key. Both read-only, once a day, with nothing to export. The Trading 212 API is in beta and we have not yet validated the connection against a real account — the app tells you the same.

  • XTB arrives by statement, and that counts as an integration

XTB switched its API off in March 2025, so the file is the integration. Export the history from xStation 5 and Navefi reads positions, trades and cash movements — and refuses the import if the total it computes disagrees with the one XTB prints. Any other broker is entered by hand, once, and the quotes stay current from then on.

  • Syncs itself1/3

  • What you already paid to trade

Commissions observed on your transactions and the cost of currency conversion, set against what you invested, broken down by broker and by security.

  • What it costs to hold

Each fund’s ongoing charges figure, weighted across the portfolio, and what that means per year in euros. It is reported, not subtracted from your returns, because the fund price already reflects it.

A fund’s ongoing charge is taken from its own NAV, so it is already inside the quoted price — and already inside any return computed from it.

  • Cost basis at the rate on the buying day

A dollar position stores the exchange rate at the moment of purchase. Today’s value converts at today’s rate, but the cost basis is not rewritten every time you open the page.

  • The portfolio counts in net worth

Positions, cash sitting at the broker and alternative assets add to total net worth, and enter the daily snapshot beside the accounts and the property.

Frequently asked questions

Does Navefi place buy or sell orders?

No. Navefi reads and displays. Every order is still placed at your broker.

Which brokers connect automatically?

Interactive Brokers, over the Flex Web Service, once a day and read-only. The rest are entered by hand or imported from a file, because they publish no read-only access for clients.

Are prices real time?

No. Prices are fetched when you open the page and cached for a few hours — shorter during the US session, longer outside it. There is no blinking quote, and nothing in a personal finance app needs one.

Does Navefi show annualised returns?

It shows unrealised gain in euros and percent, the day change, the history of the portfolio value and the weight of each position. It does not compute time-weighted return or internal rate of return.
